I always thought managing my health was important, but... here we are. I got sick anyway.
Korea's weather is way more dramatic than I expected. In the middle of summer, even people from Thailand and Vietnam say Korea is hotter. In the dead of winter, even folks from Russia and Canada say Korea is colder.
At this point lol... did someone mess up where they placed this country on the map? 😂
This cold hit me hard ㅜ My UIUC MBA interview got scheduled, so I've been practicing expected questions and prepping every night after work.
It's such an important milestone for me right now, so I pushed myself to practice late into the night... and that definitely backfired ㅜ
The weakened immune system brought on tonsillitis too.
I usually run a fever when sick, but this time it spiked to 39.2°C.
Having dealt with acute tonsillitis before, I know the terror of high fever all too well. And yep, experienced it again this time:
Suddenly your whole body aches everywhere
You feel... off (?)
Bitter taste in your mouth
When it goes above 38°C, your eyes get dry
And now... full body shaking!! The fever makes you tremble uncontrollably.
When you're wandering through this hellscape at death's door, you NEED to get to a hospital for IV fluids, painkillers, and fever reducers. Otherwise your mind literally gets sucked into a black hole and you can't escape the pain ㅜㅜ (Like... you literally can't think anymore)
This cold came as the complete package - cough, phlegm, runny nose, everything. I've probably gone through like 4 rolls of toilet paper just blowing my nose, and it STILL keeps coming...? (Am I a phlegm factory at this point?)
I should be eating well to recover, but with this bitter taste in my mouth, I have zero appetite and all motivation just... vanishes ㅜ
Actually, I'm getting mad now. AI is taking over the world, superintelligence is emerging, and Musk is heading to space (literally Mars), but we can't conquer ONE VIRUS?? This has to be a conspiracy... it must be...
Can some crazy genius please invent a drug that actually works 100% against cold viruses... (Yeah yeah, I know - cold medicine is just painkillers & stuff. There's no actual cure for the common cold... sigh)
Time to nail this interview and try my best not to look sick...!
